On March 17, 2022, AWAPSA convened 50 women including security actors, provincial administrators, religious leaders and other key stakeholders to lobby the government to establish a fund to support women peacebuilders’ work. The event marked the launch of AWAPSA’s She Builds Peace campaign in Mombasa county, Kenya.
Pathways for Women’s Empowerment and Development (PaWED) organized a She Builds Peace campaign launch event for women peacebuilders to present their work, network and develop partnerships.
Between October and December 2021, Hope Advocates conducted campaign activities in the Maroua, Mora and Ekange communities of Cameroon with a variety of stakeholders.
Based in Turkey, Zenobia Association organized two home sessions for Syrian women in the Turkish states of Gaziantep and Shanley Urfa to enable women peacebuilders to understand the Syrian context and the causes of conflict.
WEDOL launched the She Builds Peace in Liberia with a parade attended by approximately 300 people.
Rawafed launched the “She Builds Peace” campaign in order to create a space for women peacebuilders to reflect on their civic activism in society.
