Together with André Mundal, our new Interim Chair of the ICAN Board of Directors, we are delighted to welcome two new members to our Board of Directors. We are confident that their insight, creativity, and deep commitment to ICAN’s mission will strengthen our work and extend our impact—even in these uncertain times.
Our new board members are:
- Terry Greenblatt, Senior Advisor at Ploughshares and long-time women’s peace and justice activist. Prior to joining Ploughshares, she co-founded Rawa: Creative Palestinian Communities Fund and served as the executive director of Urgent Action Fund for Women’s Human Rights, the first Activist in Residence of Global Fund for Women, and executive director of Bat Shalom, Israel’s national women’s peace organization. - Sawsan Chebli, former German politician, author, and Senior Advisor to the Chairman and the Board of Directors at Doha Media City. From 2016 to 2021, Chebli served as State Secretary for Civic Engagement and International Affairs in the Berlin government. In 2023, she published her first book, LAUT, which received wide acclaim for addressing the challenges democratic societies face due to social media and cyber violence. She joined our board in 2025. In December 2024, we also welcomed Kavita Ramdas, a globally recognized advocate for gender equity and justice and an independent philanthropic advisor and consultant, to ICAN’s Board of Directors. More about Kavita Ramdas here.
