About the Organization

Iraqi Al-Amal Association (IAA) is an organization based in Iraq that works with volunteers who are actively engaged in projects for the benefit and well-being of the Iraqi population. Established in 1992, IAA works on the rehabilitation of the Iraqi citizens to raise social consciousness and contribute to building a democratic state.

Its programs address violence and discrimination and promote a culture of human rights, gender equality, tolerance and social peace. IAA also supports income-generation projects, provides psychosocial assistance and training, and works on issues of law reform to strengthen the rule of law and justice.

ICAN’s Innovative Peace Fund has supported IAA since 2015, including by supporting initiatives to train youth on gender-sensitive peacebuilding.
