10th ICAN Women, Peace, and Security Forum: Special Session with the Albanian Parliament

The 10th International Civil Society Action Network (ICAN) Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) Forum will examine pressing global challenges–from humanitarian crises and climate change to authoritarianism and election violence–with attention to the practical strategies and innovative solutions that women peacebuilders use at the local level to prevent and mitigate violence and transform crises and conflicts.

Convened the premises of the Albanian Parliament, this special session of the ICAN Forum is particularly significant, reflecting the ongoing commitment of Albanian institutions to advancing the WPS agenda at a time when security challenges are more complex than ever. The discussions will examine the dynamics of international responsibility, the achievements and potential of the WPS agenda, and strengthen our global-local cooperation as peace actors in these critical times. Speakers will include representatives of the Albanian government and institutions, international diplomats, and expert peace practitioners and mediators of the Women’s Alliance for Security Leadership (WASL).
