About the Organization
Madaniya is a nonprofit, non-governmental organization that was established in 2018 by a group of women activists in Sudan. Madaniya aims to empower women and youth, promote their active participation in their communities, and promote their engagement with policymaking in Sudan.
Since its establishment, Madaniya has implemented projects and activities that promote equal rights for women and youth and ensure they play an active role in the Sudanese community by enhancing their social, political, economic, and cultural capacities.
Its programs have included creating a democratic platform for youth projects, empowering female activists, addressing gender discrimination in the legal system, raising awareness of transitional justice, and supporting women human rights defenders.
ICAN’s Innovative Peace Fund has supported Madiniya since 2020. .
