About the Organization

Rescue Me is a nonprofit organization based in Lebanon that works with social workers and clinical psychologists to rehabilitate and reintegrate prisoners found guilty of terrorism, in order to prevent crime through social development and promote safer communities. The organization’s previous work has includes improving the rehabilitation and reintegration of female extremists and supporting at-risk women to develop the tools and resilience needed to prevent them joining violent extremist organizations.

ICAN’s Innovative Peace Fund has supported Rescue Me since 2018.

Stories & Features

We work on ‘breaking the cycle.’ You break an extremist cycle when you intervene in every possible way: with the person, with their family, with the environment. When you prevent recruitment, you are breaking the cycle of hatred and injustice.
