WASL Statement: An Urgent 7-Point Plan to End the Killings and Violence in Palestine and Israel

Members of the Women’s Alliance for Security Leadership (WASL)—peacebuilders, mediators, human rights activists, and community leaders living and working at the frontlines of many of today’s devastating wars—released a statement calling upon global political leaders to demand an immediate ceasefire in Israel and Palestine.

The statement outlines a comprehensive set of actions that enable a pathway to a more just and peaceful future.

“We also know that when violence begets more violence, and extremism begets more extremism, it is the innocent people who pay the highest price. Thousands of civilians—men, women, and children— have already been killed and maimed. Why? How many more have to die before you all realize that war and violence are never the answer? This has to stop.”

WASL member Wi’am: the Palestinian Conflict Transformation Center (Wi’am), based in Bethlehem, is providing urgent humanitarian care to the communities it serves. This includes psychosocial support and distributing critical resources such as food and medicine. Wi’am promotes peace, justice, and reconciliation in Palestine through building civil society and providing support to those who need it most. Make a Donation to Wi’am.
