“The ICAN forum is a unique gathering of people living at the center of crises – dealing with the world’s most complex geopolitical and security challenges. They are ahead of the headlines because they are the first to care enough, to have the courage to run towards the problems, and take on the responsibility to protect their communities.”

In May 2022, ICAN hosted its 9th Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) forum in partnership with Addu Women’s Association (AWA) Maldives, bringing together locally rooted women peacebuilders – members of the Women’s Alliance for Security Leadership (WASL) – from 39 countries, with other key international actors and policymakers.

We are delighted to release our new video “Reclaiming Power, Restoring Peace”, which gives a glimpse into the words, work, and unique nature of the WASL alliance.

We hope you enjoy watching, please let us know what you think and reshare widely on social media, tag #ICANForum22 and @whatthewomensay.
