Hope Advocates

Feb 2022 –Between October and December 2021, Hope Advocates conducted campaign activities in the Maroua, Mora and Ekange communities of Cameroon with a variety of stakeholders. In Maroua, 60 women peacebuilders met with ten civil society organizations and four traditional and religious leaders who committed to ensure that women peace builders are part of the relevant decision-making processes. In the Mora refugee camp, the heads of security and focal points joined young women and girls in learning about the campaign and committed to include the young women in Cambos Councils. Grassroots women in the Kange Fishing Port community formed groups to build their knowledge and capacity with regard to the campaign. Overall, the campaign work increased awareness of what it means to be a woman peacebuilder and many women felt more valued and appreciated.
