Alliance for Gender Inclusion in the Peace Process (AGIPP)

The She Builds Peace campaign was launched in Myanmar by the Alliance for Gender Inclusion in the Peace Process (AGIPP) through two events held in March 2020.  First, AGIPP took part in a celebration of Mon Women Day (organized by Mon Women Network).  There, they spoke about the importance of recognizing women peacebuilders in the peace process and ensuring their security.  They stressed the need to stand up with women peacebuilders.  AGIPP also shared ICAN and campaign materials—translated into Burmese—with stakeholders, including government officials and representatives of prominent political parties.

The second part of the launch was an event on International Women’s Day, where AGIPP worked to raise awareness of the campaign. AGIPP distributed campaign t-shirts and encouraged attendees to take and share photos with the campaign banner in order to raise wider awareness of the campaign.
